Inle Princess Resort

Placed within an idyllic setting on the banks of the Inle Lake, this hotel is passionate about promoting the local culture and traditions of the people of the region. The goats of Inle Lake provide the cheese, buffaloes are deployed to fertilise the vegetable garden, and the fish and ham are smoked on site. Locals make the rice liquor served and the pottery that you will see used throughout the resort is created in the lake’s environs.

The set menu at this Inle Lake hotel is a sumptuous fusion of Shan, Inthar, Danu and Paluang ethnic cuisines. Lunch and supper is served both on the lakeside with views of the mountains as well inside the Shan-style wooden restaurant. It is also possible to dine in the restaurant’s wine cellar, eating off a lacquered long tail boat table under a ceiling of beautiful murals. A curling red tree looms up over the bar next to the restaurant and the walls are decorated with paintings of traditional Inthar life. The cottages are utterly delectable, decked with homemade furniture, luxurious fabrics and ethnic artefacts. The top-end bungalows also come with sun decks looking out over the lake. Undoubtedly one of the finest of the Inle Lake hotels.
