This resort is set amongst 24 acres on the banks of the Ayeyarwady River.
The menu is a succinct fusion of Western and Asian dishes. As the sun goes down the lights of the ground blaze on, and it will be hard to find a table without a stunning view. There is an infinity pool (the biggest of all the Bagan hotels) which appears to spill out into the Ayeyarwady.
The Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort encourages visitors to bring seeds from their own corners of the globe to plant in the garden, with the prospect of returning to Thiripyitsaya one day to see their produce in use.
FLASH POINT: From the okra in their vegetable tempura to the mint in their mojito, much of the produce used here is sourced from the onsite vegetable and herb gardens.
