The bungalows are set just on the cusp of jungle looking out onto the bay which is enclosed on both sides by rocky mountain. At night the horizon is lit up by green light as fishermen emerge from nearby villages to catch squid.
The Paradise Beach restaurant serves some excellent dishes – we recommend the pumpkin curry and the yellow fried noodles – however some guests are content with merely a coconut fresh from the trees on the beach.
FLASH POINT: There is no wi-fi or signal at Paradise Beach and at Atcha Wat there is little of anything either. The facilities on the beach are basic and one may have to use a bucket to shower during the dry season. This will not be everyone’s idea of paradise, however for beach bums and yogis, Myanmar doesn’t get much better than this.
